Idaho Reception/Insane Storm!

Melba Idaho weather is unpredictable. We had the most AMAZING decortions for the reception and all day long we talked about how perfect the weather was.... Until about thirty minutes prior to the reception.

Rain so hard that it started destroying all the outside blown up photos. Wind that blew away all the decorations. Food that was getting wet....We had people sprinting outside in their tuxedos holding up pillars so the decorations didn't collapse. Really quite humorous actually.

We went on with everything as best we could. Moved the reception into the living room, and proceeded.

Another thirty minutes went by and it was beautiful and calm outside. Really, are you kidding me? The storm came long enough and hard enough just to destroy all the tables, food, pictures, decorations....and now its great outside. Thats bad luck :) We couldn't get any pictures of the beatiful decoration obviously, but we did get two pictures I LOVE in the backyard. In the end, it was a great day!!
Special thanks to everyone for making this such a great day. Especially my parents. Todd's parents. Jake for playing camera man. Liz for the beautiful flowers. The Svedine family for the decorations. All the people from the ward who helped with food. And to everyone who came to support us!

Our Story

Kailee and Todd, today is your day
Together forever, let’s all say hooray
The road to this marriage took over a year
But as a married couple today they are here.

How did they meet you might want to ask
To tell you the story is this poem’s task.

We’d heard Pirates’ Island was really neat
So as a family decided to go there and eat.
As our waitress approached Dad said,
“Isn’t she cute? All dressed up in her black and
red pirate suit.”
Then nudging Todd, Dad asked, “Did she catch your eye?”
Todd said, “Yes, Dad, I noticed her,” cause he couldn’t lie.

How to get her phone number was the topic at dinner
Cause we all agreed this girl was a winner.
Finally Jon’s friend said, “I’ll just go ask.”
And soon after, Todd had her number at last.

As we left Kailee wondered, “Should I answer his call?”
Her sister said, “Heck yes, he’s so handsome and tall.”
Not too much time passed and Todd dialed her number.
Will she pick up her phone was his number one wonder.

She did and said yes to their very first date
Todd, though nervous, could hardly wait.
Where shall I take her, what shall we do.
Todd knew this girl was one he’d want to pursue.

The night finally came for this special date
But Kailee called Todd and said, “ I have to work late.”
Undaunted, persistent Todd wouldn’t give up
Said he, “I’ll be there whenever. We can have a late sup.
Two hours went by, and then it was three.
Todd wondered ‘ is this girl standing up me?’

Finally she called, to her house he could go
Said Kailee, “I’m sorry I was so slow,”
The truth be known she hadn’t worked late
Just terribly nervous for their very first date.
They drove straight to get yogurt and talked all the way
But a short time later, Todd said “Let’s call it a day.”

The very next day Todd left out of town
To Canada where cell phone lines were down.
He couldn’t text nor could he call
To let her know he was interested, after all.
One week went by and to Kailee’s dismay
Todd still hadn’t called. Had he nothing to say?

Not the usual way boys had acted before.
After one date they’d be right at her door.
This boy was different and her interest grew
I must get to know him, was something she knew.

When Todd returned, he read Kailee’s text.
He was very excited and knew what to do next.
A telephone call and another date set
At Café Rio that day was where they met.
From that time often together they were
And the beginnings of love started to stir.

Said Kailee to her mom, “I’ve started to date.
I think I could like him, he’s really first rate.
Said her Mom, “Oh please tell me more.”
I need to know of this boy you adore.”
“Mom,” said Kailee, “A boy he is not…
He’s thirty….. but I like him a lot.”
“He’s older than dirt…….And you’re only twenty. Said Mom, “There are more boys out there a plenty.” “You’ll just have to meet him, you’ll like him I know, But until then” said Kailee, ”We’ll take it real slow.”

With Kailee in school and Todd on the road
Being together, when home, lifted their load.
On the weeks Todd was gone, Kailee studied a lot,But when he was home, play was what they sought.
They traveled to Vegas then to Hawaii they went
Snorkeling, sightseeing – a fun time they spent

Todd works with a sales team and speaks on the floor.
Seeing him do this, Kailee has come to adore.
“When I see him up front directing the crowd
Said Kaiee, “I fall in love again and am so proud.”

Todd, too, loves to see Kailee hard at work
Her school assignments she doesn’t shirk.
He stands in amazement at how smart she is
A straight a student shows she is a whiz.

Todd loves to golf. Kailee didn’t know how
So a golf class she took and is getting good now.
Kailee’s a snowboarder and begged Todd to try
So off to the slopes they went by and by.
Soon Todd of speeding too fast down the hill
Going and going until he took a bad spill.
Where am I? What happened? was all he could say
On the snow, in the cold, right there where he lay.
To the hospital they went to check out his head
Then home, with a concussion, he went straight to bed.

To Kailee’s home, Todd went, this spring
To ask if he could put on her finger a ring.
Her Dad said yes we have to presume
To their love that was obviously in full bloom.
With a ring on her finger, they were finally engaged
And today in their life, they’ve turned a new page.
Together forever, they were married God’s way.
Let’s all give a cheer, hip hip and hooray.

A big thanks to everyone who helped make this day so amazing!!

Bridal Veil Falls

I LOVE my family. Today Jake, Wod, Nick, & I hiked up Bridal Veil Falls. I seriously laugh sooo much when I'm with my family. We had a picnic, played football, and then danced our way up the mountain. It's been a stressful week trying to get the wedding planned so it was nice to get away and stop thinking about it. I was blessed with the most amazing, smart, humorous, down to earth family you could ever imagine. I don't know where or what I would be if I didn't have each and every one of them in my life.

Amber Shaw Shoot

Here are some shots from a recent shoot I did for Amber Shaw. She was featured in a national blog with some of the shots, which is pretty exciting. I had an appointment to get my hair colored for my wedding right after this...so they were a bit in disgust when I came in with wet blue hair. Well worth it though :)
